Date: November 8th, 2023
Location: Fairway Hotel, Kampala (Virtual attendance possible)
Time: 9am EAT for in-person registration, 10am EAT for opening session
Why You Should Attend:
Your organization is a potential partner for one of our three ambitious Climate Action Partnerships (see below)
Your organization is a relevant stakeholder
Agenda:
1️⃣ Opening Plenary Session: Featuring global thought leaders, activists, social entrepreneurs, and—most critically—individuals who have firsthand experience with the impacts of climate change at the last mile, including refugees.
2️⃣ Breakout Workshops: Dive deep into one of the three Climate Action Partnerships outlined below, and explore your organization’s potential role.
Climate Action Partnerships: Solar-Electric Cooking (SOLCO)
Transition 250,000 households in refugee-hosting contexts from biomass to solar electric cooking. SOLCO is part of the GeCCo - Global Electric Cooking Coalition launching at #COP28.
Waste Management (FairRecycling)
Develop self-sustaining business models for circular waste management in displacement settings. The aim is to provide millions of households in refugee-hosting areas with access to improved waste management while creating green jobs.
Reforestation (EcoAdapt)
Scale up reforestation efforts in refugee-hosting areas through innovative financing and self-sustainable business models.
Registration:
Please register and specify whether you’ll be joining virtually or would like to request an in-person slot (limited availability). Once confirmed, in-person attendees are kindly requested to be present at the Fairway Hotel by 9 a.m. local time.
