The Global Platform for Action (GPA) is the global initiative to promote actions that enable sustainable energy access in displacement settings, as laid out in the Global Plan of Action Framework Document, thereby ensuring SDG7 is inclusive of displacement situations.
By connecting individuals and organizations in productive partnerships, the GPA helps advance energy programming in the humanitarian response in quality, scale and replicability.
The GPA offers you a platform to connect and collaborate with partners in bringing clean energy solutions to displacement settings. Becoming a GPA partner is an individual’s or organization’s promise to provide practical support in delivering the goals and principles of the Global Plan of Action Framework Document.
Sustainable and clean energy can provide significant benefits to displaced people, including improved protection, gender equality, health, water services, sanitation, education, livelihoods, food security, connectivity, and environmental protection. Read more.
Displaced persons, host communities and the associated humanitarian response mechanism have access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy services by 2030.
As there is no energy cluster in the humanitarian sector and energy is a cross-cutting topic, the GPA Partnership has been established to collectively deliver the goals and principles of the Global Plan of Action Framework Document. We are partnering with Governments, UN agencies, NGOs, Companies, Think Tanks, Academia, and potentially you.
